Editor’s Note: I have long been a fan of Louis Anslow and Pessimists Archive, which digs back into the past and finds frequent repetitions of longstanding anti-technology tropes—as applied to technologies we now find to be quaint and utterly harmless.
Superb exploration of human silliness, but ultimately won't stop any of this century-long nonsense from re-occurring regularly (well, at least until the fools succeed in returning us to the Dark Ages - if that happens nobody will be screaming about lost jobs due to robots).
If logic and evidence were the coin of the realm, none of our current leaders, political or intellectual, would be employed in any job more significant than burger flipper, and I would have my flying car.
